As covered by substantial press coverage regarding record contract prices for iron ore and the flow effect of this to all steel related industries. In turn costs have been passed on by the steel mills to the fastener manufacturers and our cost of stock has continued to escalate with each incoming shipment.
In addition, the Australian dollar has depreciated by 44% from it’s high against the US dollar over the past 6 weeks. This has placed further cost pressures on our stock purchases.
These factors have left us with no option other than to implement a price increase across our industrial product range in the vicinity of 20%.
The List Price Increase will be effective on the 17th November 2008.
